LoveSetMatch is a 501 (c) (3) Charitable Organization. We started in 2010 as a successful private tennis academy and in 2022 transformed to a Not for Profit community based organization thanks to funding and support from the US Tennis Association (USTA) and the Southern California Tennis Association (SCTA).
We offer year round tennis classes and a summer camp. LoveSetMatch is a program partner with the County of Los Angles for Tennis & Yoga and the USTA to provide tennis programming at various sites around So Cal.
I am excited to share my interview with a tennis journalist from London as we recap the stunning Wimbledon results but first just a quick update with whats happening around here at LoveSetMatch.
Valerie is off to see Nick Kyrgios, Gael Monfils Taylor Fritz, and Diego Schwartzman tonight at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown happening this very minute at the Dignity Health Arena in Carson so I am excited to recap that experience with her when she returns. Special shout out to the USTA for offering LoveSetMatch free tickets which we were able to use as a fundraiser for our mission.
And speaking of mission, we are in full summer swing of our free tennis classes offered to kids in East Los Angeles in partnership with LA County. We are hosting these classes at three different parks and reaching so many kids who would never have the experience of a tennis class or lesson from a tennis coach. More importantly, we hope we are creating great memories for these kids to fall in love with the sport we are so passionate about and through these relationships, offering encouragement, fitness advice, and motivation to live a healthy lifestyle. There are a lot of pictures from the classes on my instagram @phillipkimpk if you want to see the joy of these kids faces i will put a link in the show notes!
If you would like to support the mission of LoveSetMatch, You can donate two ways:
First you can zelle us at email aces@lovesetmatch.net
Second you can donate on our facebook page fb/LoveSetMatch.org
Thanks so much for your generous support!
Our guest today is giving us an inside look at Wimbledon and the epic 5 hour Mens final. It seems only appropriate that we partner with a tennis passionista from the UK doesn’t it? Well, Martin Keady writes about tennis, including tennis history, for Last Word On Tennis (or LWOT for short). He is based in London and his work can be found by searching for “Martin Keady, Author LWOT”, on Twitter @mrtnkeady, or via his website: https://theshakespeareplays.com/.
I think you are really going to love his insightful take on Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. So please welcome Martin Keady to the Tennispal Chronicles.
