Rafael Nadal supportive of Roger Federer at World Tour Finals

Nadal Federer Bromance

From the ATP Tour Website:
Nadal closed his pre-tournament press conference by voicing his support for long-time rival Federer, whom he fully expects to see alongside him at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in London next month. Nadal has already secured his place in the eight-man field, along with Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and David Ferrer, while Federer is seventh in the Emirates ATP Race To London.

“He’s going to go, he’s going to qualify. I am sure of that,” said Nadal. “He is not going to have a problem. Even if he doesn’t have lots of points of advantage, I feel he always played well in this last part of the season. He likes to play in these tournaments. He always had the positive results. I really feel that he will do it. He’s a great player and I am sure he will be there and fighting for the title.”

Roger had his own encouraging words for Rafa as well!

“One year ago people were saying he might never play tennis again,” Federer said after his first round-doubles win with proud local Zhang Ze at the Shanghai Rolex Masters. “One year later he’s world No. 1. That’s how quick things can go in tennis, which is great.  On the other hand, you got also the other extreme the other way sometimes. You write off a player a little bit too fast.

“I’m really happy that Rafa’s proven himself, for himself personally, clearly, but also to the rest of the world that you never write off someone like him. I’m very happy for him.  I mean, the US Open was an unbelievable victory, getting that done. Early on you just thought things went well for him.  But he proved himself so many times this year that he deserves to be world No. 1. Nobody is arguing with it.”
